The AAP coordination officer will be tasked to build strong liaison among eight AAP sectors/departments through support to regular meeting of District Coordination Committee for Nutrition (DCCN). The DCCN are notified coordination mechanism under the leadership of Deputy Commissioners to support, coordinate and monitor the implementation of AAP plan at district level. The incumbent will be the main focal person at the divisional level responsible for, coordination, monitoring of nutrition specific and sensitive intervention as envisaged under AAP and by the development partners.

Gender Mainstreaming Training Session in Progress

AAP Secretariat in collaboration with Livestock Sector organized two-days training on “Gender Mainstreaming” and one-day training on “Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace” from 5th to 7th October, 2020 at Hyderabad. The Training was delivered by Gender Specialist of AAP Secretariat Ms Hameeda Kaleem. 35 participants attended the event and at the end of it the participants developed a “Gender Action Plan” for Livestock sector interventions.

Ms. Christina Brugiolo, Chief of Field Office, UNICEF Sindh called on Mr Mustafa Jamal Kazi, Program Coordinator Nutrition, AAP Secretariat, Planning and Development Department, Government of Sindh. Agenda of the meeting was to review progress against the annual work plan signed between both entities. The discussion focused on short and long term strategies for addressing the challenge of stunting and malnutrition among children in Sindh. Development of AAP -02 also came under discussion. Given the resources constraints, it was observed that the new plan would prioritize high impact interventions. Furthermore, it was agreed that District Coordination Committees for Nutrition(DCCN) would be established for effective and efficient implementation of AAP Sectors activities.
